During this activity, we divide everyone into groups of up to ten people. Each group represents as a team a microbrewery in competition with the other groups. The goal is to brew a beer but also to convince the fictitious investors (also participants) to invest in your brewery!
After a short introduction, each team organizes itself and divides the different roles: management, production, quality control, marketing & sales, … Each role has its own responsibilities which keeps everyone busy during the activity. Then each team is given the necessary materials and ingredients to brew a beer from A to Z.
The participants choose which recipe they prefer to brew. The brewing activity is supervised by experienced brewers who will answer any questions participants may have. While brewing, each team must also come up with an original and fun presentation. This will have to be presented to potential investors at the end of the activity. The team will explain the name of the brewery, the design of the label and other elements that the team foresees. After a small deliberation, the activity ends with the announcement of the winner(s).
Participants will also have the chance to taste different ingredients during the activity. The goal is to demonstrate the influence of these ingredients on the taste of the beer. The beer made during the workshop will be made to quality and food-safe
