Wind Farm is a creative team building activity with sustainability as its theme. Teams are tasked with building a ‘wind-powered device’ to lift a weight 1 metre off the ground. Each team is given a box of building materials with which to work as efficiently as possible.
Each component has its carbon footprint, and teams obviously want to keep the overall footprint of their device as low as possible. Once teams have a working device, they can start thinking how to optimise to keep the footprint as low as possible.
After building, the “sustainability challenge” begins via an app-based game. During this challenge, teams work through a variety of questions and tasks to offset the carbon footprint of their build. The challenge consists of quiz questions on sustainability as well as creative photo and video tasks.
Finally, we test all the constructions and calculate the final carbon footprint. The team with a working device and the lowest carbon footprint will eventually be declared as the winner. Wind Farm is an activity that involves problem-solving, creativity, drive, cooperation and strategic thinking.
This activity can be held in Antwerp, Brussels, East Flanders, Flemish Brabant, Hainaut, Liège, Limburg, Luxembourg, Namur, Walloon Brabant and West Flanders .
